House leadership denounces Montana candidate

Congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle are denouncing the physical attack by a Republican from Montana who wants to be the state's sole representative in the House.

Greg Gianforte has been charged with a misdemeanor - assault - after he body slammed and broke the glasses of Ben Jacobs, a reporter for the Guardian, who was asking him questions about the cost of health care.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says the assault never should have happened.

IN: "There's never....
OUT: ...should apologize."
DUR: 17

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says Greg Gianforte sets a poor example.

IN: "To see....
OUT: ..c'mon! behave!"
DUR: 21

Greg Gianforte is running against Democrat Rob Quist for the state's only seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, with ballots counted (tonight) and election results expected by the end of the week.
