CONSERVATIVES PERFORM WELL IN UK ELECTIONS

Local election results in the UK are making healthy reading for the governing Conservative Party ahead of June's general election.

(Early results show) the Conservatives have gained control of several local councils.

The opposition Labour Party and UKIP both appear to be losing voters to the Conservatives.

It's allowing critics of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to lay blame at his door for the results.
