Russia ambassador to the United Nations says America's air strike
against Syria only strengthens terrorism in the Middle East.
Vladimir Safronkov condemned the US strikes which targeted a Syrian
air base in retaliation for Tuesday's chemical weapons attack.
The US ambassador Nikki Haley defended the move saying unilateral
action was needed as the Security Council had failed to act.
