May sets sights on Wales in general election battle

British Prime Minister Theresa May has been visiting Wales, as the Conservatives hope to win seats from the traditional Labour leaning country in the upcoming general election

Mrs May warned voters that support for Labour and the welsh nationalist party Plaid Cymru (PRO: PLY-ED CAM-RU)  would cause instability.

The visit comes as some opinion polls suggest a surge of support for the Conservatives could see them replace Labour as the largest party in Wales for the first time since the 1900s.

Mrs May pledged to work for the whole of Britain in upcoming Brexit negotiations.
