Marine Le Pen temporarily stepping down as party leader to focus on presidential race

French far right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has announced she's temporarily stepping down as Front National leader - for the two weeks until the second round of the presidential vote.

She has an uphill struggle to beat centrist Emmanuel Macron in the runoff.

The former leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage, is a supporter of Marine Le Pen.

But he says there are two ways of reading her decision.
