British MPs will vote today (Wednesday) on a motion to allow a snap general election to be held on June 8th.
Prime Minister Theresa May made the surprise announcement that she was seeking an early ballot Tuesday morning.
However lawmakers first need to pass a motion resetting the clock on legislation which says an election can only be held every five years.
