United States Vice President Mike Pence has fueled speculation that
the Trump administration will move it's embassy in Israel from Tel
Aviv to Jerusalem.
The move is strongly opposed by the Palestinians who also claim
ownership of the city and by many US allies who see the move as a
roadblock to peace.
Donald Trump backed the move during the presidential campaign but has
backed off the issue somewhat since becoming president.
But in a speech to the highly influential pro-Israel U.S. lobby group
AIPAC- Pence said the option of moving the embassy is still very much
on the table.

The United Nations has frequently criticized Israel and last week the
UN's Middle East envoy accused the country of ignoring demands by the
Security Council to stop settlement building.
Israel rejected the announcement and have regularly clashed with the
world body over the issue.
But in a speech to the highly influential pro-Israel U.S. lobby group
AIPAC Pence said that the US under president Trump will protect Israel
at the UN.
