US begins processing asylum seekers in Australian offshore detention

INTRO:
US officials have begun processing asylum seekers in Australian
offshore detention on the Pacific island of Nauru on Monday.

This is the first step in processing the asylum seekers although
resettlement is not guaranteed. U.S. President Donald Trump called the
exchange a "dumb deal" in a tweet.
