Scots return to independence referendum vote

The Scottish parliament will resume a debate today on whether to call for a second independence referendum, after the debate last week was cut short by the terror attacks in Westminster.

Scotland's First Minister and leader of the Scottish National Party Nicola Sturgeon is expected to win enough backing for the measure which will put her on the road to a  constitutional clash with Prime Minister Theresa May.

From London, Catherine Drew reports.
