SCOTLAND TO ASK FOR NEW INDEPENDENCE REFERENDUM

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says she will seek permission to hold a new referendum on Scottish independence.

Ms Sturgeon says a vote should be held between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019.

Scotland voted against becoming independent in a referendum in 2014.

She insists the Scottish people should be able to decide again on independence as the UK heads for what she calls a 'hard Brexit'.
