MAY: SCOTLAND REFERENDUM 'DIVISIVE'

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says she will seek permission to hold a new referendum on Scottish independence.

Ms Sturgeon says a vote should be held between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019 when more is known about the terms of Britain's exit from the EU.

Scotland voted against becoming independent in a referendum in 2014.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May says the call for a new referendum is misguided.
