ICJ takes on Ukrainian lawsuit against Russia

The UN International Court of Justice in The Hague begins hearing a lawsuit Monday alleging Russian abuses in Ukraine.

The government in Kiev accuses Moscow of violating United Nations conventions on discrimination and terrorism over its actions in Crimea and the eastern region of Donbass.

A ruling could take months or even years.

Military analyst, Pavel Felgenhauer, says Ukraine has a compelling case but Russia is unlikely to accept the outcome.
