American President Donald Trump has announced a review of car fuel economy regulations brought in by the previous Obama administration.
Speaking to auto workers in Detroit, Mr Trump said current goals were damaging to the US car industry and to American jobs.
Mr Trump said it was time for a new model of protecting American industries from threats from abroad. He said he was not going to allow foreign countries to export their cars to America, while limiting US imports.
