White House maintains immigration executive order is legal

The Trump administration is maintaining that the executive order limiting travelers from 7 Middle Eastern countries is legal under standing immigration law.

U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted that according to one (unscientific, self-selecting) online poll by Politico, his immigration ban is one of the most popular executive orders so far.

A three judge panel in San Francisco is continuing to review arguments on whether the executive order is constitutional.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer insisted the court case is on a narrow point of law, and the president has all the authority he needs to do what he did.
