US: Last protestors leave encampment before construction of Dakota Access Pipeline

INTRO:
Nearly all protesters defending part of the US state of North Dakota
from the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline have left after a
federal deadline passed.

Demonstrators at the site have said that the pipeline would
contaminate the area's water supply, which passes through the land of
local native tribes.
