U.S. Justice department releases scathing report on Chicago Police violence

The U.S. Justice Department has released a scathing report on a 'pattern of excessive violence' in the Chicago Police Department.

The 13-month probe was sparked by the death of an African American teenager who was shot 16 times police as he walked away, armed with a knife.

The non-binding report found Chicago police to be poorly trained, understaffed and frequently unsupervised.
