Takata charged $1B, 3 executives fined

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced fines and penalities totaling $1 billion levied against Takata for faulty air bag inflators.

In the U.S., 11 have died and more than 180 injured after their airbags deployed and the inflators exploded into shrapnel.
