With eight days remaining in office, President Obama created and
expanded more national monuments to honor the nation's historic fight
for civil rights and to protect important Western landscapes. Obama's
monument designations, announced Thursday, further add to the
aggressive conservation agenda he pursued during his eight years in
office.
