UN chief urges resumption of Aleppo evacuation

The United Nations Secretary-General has asked the Syrian government
to allow the evacuation of civilians from Aleppo to resume.

Speaking at his final press conference, Ban Ki-moon said the situation
in Syria was "heartbreaking" and that the UN had failed the Syrian
people.

He also apologized for leaving so much unfinished business for his
successor Antonio Guterres who takes over as UN Secretary-General on
January the first.

Ban Ki-moon said the world was watching the situation deteriorate in Aleppo.
