UN appoints New Zealand MP Shearer to head South Sudan Peacekeeping Mission

INTRO:

The United Nations Secretary General has announced that New Zealand
Labour MP David Shearer will take the top position as head of the
South Sudan peacekeeping mission.

This will mark Shearer's second appointment by outgoing Secretary
General Ban Ki Moon.
