U.S. President Barack Obama has given his last press conference of 2016.
Taking questions from journalists on a wide range of issues, the outgoing president said Washington's relationship with China was the single most important, going forward.
He called on Donald Trump's administration to think through the consequences of upturning China's stance on Taiwan.
And he addressed his own foreign policy record on Syria, as Nina-Maria Potts reports:
