International airline officials said a United Nations warning
mechanism, intended to prevent another crash like the 2014 Malaysian
Airlines downing over Ukraine, is "useless". The International Air
Transport Association (IATA) said there needs to be a new, more timely
system for detecting dangers in the airspace above war zones. US
