Australia's long history of co-operation with the United States should ensure a new refugee deal survives into the Trump administration, according to Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
His comments come following the announcement by Mr Turnbull and his immigration minister Peter Dutton over the weekend that a deal hade been made with the United States to resettle asylum seekers currently detained on Nauru and Manus island.
