An earthquake in central Italy has left at least 13 people dead and many more trapped.
The magnitude 6.2 quake struck 100 km north-east of the capital Rome.
Officials say it was similar in intensity to the 2009 Aquila earthquake which killed 309 people.
Nicola Pesce of Sky Italia says the mountainous territory in the worst affected areas makes the rescue effort difficult.
