EMERGENCY DECLARED IN ITALY QUAKE REGIONS

A state of emergency has been declared in the Italian regions worst affected by Wednesday's powerful earthquake.

At least 267 people were killed by the quake and searches continue for people trapped or dead under debris and rubble.

The mountainous area of central Italy where the earthquake struck will receive €50m (£42m) in funds for rebuilding.

CBC Canada's Megan Williams has been visiting the worst affected towns such as Amatrice - she says fresh aftershocks have been hampering the relief effort.
