US freezes Malaysian development bank assets

The U.S. is hoping to force the forefeiture of more than $ 1 billion in assets, originally associated with 1MDB, the Malaysian development bank.

The Wall Street Journal reports, some $13 billion was raised for the sovereign wealth fund, but about $6 billion has gone missing.

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch explained what she thinks happened to some of the money.
