SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS IN SOUTHERN GERMANY

A failed Syrian asylum seeker has killed himself with a backpack bomb in southern Germany, injuring 12 other people.

It happened in the town of Ansbach after he was denied entry to a music festival.

Last Monday, also in the state of Bavaria, a knife attack on a train was claimed by the Islamic State group.

At the weekend there was also a shooting rampage in Munich, and a Syrian asylum seeker was arrested over a machete attack which left one woman dead.

Aaron Tilton of DW News is in Munich - Bavaria's capital - and says this latest incident appears to have been a suicide attack.
