Security has been stepped up at UK military bases after the attempted abduction of a serviceman at RAF Marham in Norfolk in eastern England.
Armed officers have also been scrambled to an army base in Wiltshire after reports three men were seen nearby with a rifle - no suspects ended up being located.
RAF Marham is an airbase used by Tornado bombers which have taken part in air strikes against the Islamic State.
