MAY: Trident counters 'serious' threats facing UK

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has said the country's defence should be fully utilised to counter the 'serious' threats facing Britain.

Setting out the reason's why the UK should renew its Trident Nuclear Deterrent, May called the Royal Navy submarines the ultimate insurance against nuclear attack.

Speaking in the House of Commons the Prime Minister said Trident played an important part in keeping the country safe.

May's comments come as Members of Parliament vote whether or not to renew the Trident nuclear deterrent.
