US Navy Lifts Drinking Ban On American Sailors in Japan

The U.S. Navy lifted a temporary drinking ban on its more than 18000
sailors stationed in Japan on Friday after a senior officer said
personnel had time to reflect on how alcohol-fueled bad behavior can
hurt their relationship with their neighbors. The ban was imposed
after a number of controversial incidents involving US sailors and
Japanese civilians.
