Thai government calls on UN to intervene after opposition groups organize

INTRO:
The head of Thailand's military junta Prayuth Chan-ocha has asked the
United Nations to report any anti-government activity over the
weekend.

The request to the UN comes ahead of an August vote on Thailand's
constitution - which opposition groups fear will allow for further
military influence.
