UK-WIDE ELECTIONS LATEST

As votes continue to be counted in the UK-wide elections, the Scottish National party claim victory in Scotland and Labour maintain a comfortable lead in Wales.

It was a good night for the Conservative party in Scotland and UKIP in Wales, both making significant progress in gaining support.

Meanwhile pressure is mounting on Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn after his party hung on in council elections across England, but produced poor results in Scotland.
