In his maiden speech minutes after searing into office, Museveni took a swing at the International Criminal Court
Speaking before heads of states among them South African President Jacob Zuma and ICC wanted Sudan leader Omar Bashir, Museveni called the ICC a 'bunch of useless people'
Museveni said Uganda has no interest in it, adding to his previous vocal criticism of the Hague based court
In a live broadcast, Television cameras focused on Sudan's Bashir as he applauded Museveni's remarks
Uganda is a signatory to the Rome statute, a treaty that established the ICC
It is also one of the first countries to refer a case to the court
Fugitive Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony is wanted by the same court for war crimes and crimes against humanity
Already one of his co-accused rebel fighters Dominic Ongwen is currently facing trial at the Hague.
