CORRUPTION SUMMIT GETTING UNDERWAY IN LONDON

Plans have been announced for a new global anti-corruption centre to be based in London.

It's one of the main initiatives coming out of a summit on the issue of corruption being held in the British capital (Thursday).

Britain will also force foreign firms that own property in the UK to publicly declare their assets.

And some of Britain's overseas territories and dependencies will start automatically sharing more information on company ownership, in a bid to crack down on tax avoidance and evasion.

Liberal Democrat Party leader Tim Farron says it's crucial the UK acts on its own weaknesses.
