VW Deal With US Over Defective Vehicles

German carmaker Volkswagen has struck a deal with US officials over its diesel vehicles found to have environmental defects.

VW cars sold in the US were found to have been fitted with a device which could detect when the car's emissions were being tested and allowed them to change emission results.
