The first trial relating to a string of sexual assaults on New Year's Eve in Germany is taking place in the city of Dusseldorf.
Police received over a thousand complaints largely blaming foreigners, 500 of which were reported to be sexual assaults.
The attacks fuelled nationwide debate about Germany's immigration policy, as our Correspondent Natalie Powell reports from Berlin.
