US hopes to increase pressure on North Korea

The U.S. is hoping the stiffer sanctions regime recently passed by the United Nations Security Council will have the impact of finally convincing North Korea to change its ways.

North Korea claims it has made a very small nuclear weapon which can be delivered by a ballistic missile, but the U.S. military has rejected that claim.

At the White House, spokesman Josh Earnest underscored how Pyongyang's focus on nuclear weapons technology and not on the citizens of North Korea is not what leadership is all about.
