Three passengers and four crew members remain onboard an EgyptAir flight that was hijacked early Tuesday by a man wearing an explosives belt and diverted to Cyprus.
Most passengers have been allowed to leave the Airbus A320 at Larnaca however Egypt's Civil Aviation minister Sharif Fathi has confirmed 7 people remain on the plane. The passengers are believed to be non-Egyptian nationals.
The hijacker has been named by Cypriot officials as Seif Eldin Mustafa and there are reports he has demanded to see his estranged wife who lives in Cyprus. The President of Cyprus says this is not a terrorist incident however there are other reports the man has demanded the release of female prisoners in Egypt.
