Al Shabaab Attacks Kenyan Soldiers at AMISOM Base

The Somali militant group Alshabaab has attacked an African Union base in Ceel Cadde, in the south west of the country killing dozens of people.

Alshabaab claims over fifty Kenyan peacekeepers were killed in the gunfire.

Alshabaab reportedly drove a car loaded with explosives into the African Union base before the bombs went off. 

A heavy fight broke out at the base with Kenyan soldiers. 

Al Shabaab claims to have killed fifty Kenyan soldiers. But Kenya says, Al shabaab also suffered casualties

The base is located not far from the Kenyan border.

Kenyan soldiers are part of the African Union force, fighting Alshabaab in Somalia.
