U.S. lawmakers pass massive spending bill with wider global implications

U.S. lawmakers have overwhelmingly voted in favour of a 1.15 trillion dollar spending bill, which includes some major provisions that satisfy both Democrats and Republicans.

Among the compromise measures: the lifting of a 40 year ban on crude oil exports.
