REPUBLICANS FOCUS ON TERROR IN DEBATE

Republican presidential candidates in the US have clashed over how to deal with the Islamic State in the latest TV debate.

And Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, along with Jeb Bush, all sought to portray themselves as the candidates who could keep America safe amid the threat of Islamic terrorism.

US correspondent Lorna Shaddick says it was the defining theme of the debate.
