Iran had embarked on a project to develop nuclear weapons but did not follow through beyond early plans and experiments, according to latest findings by the UN's nuclear watchdog.
The assessment by the International Atomic Energy Agency is part of an investigation that could bring Iran closer to sanctions relief under a major deal with world powers.
