Australia approves coal shipping port near Great Barrier Reef

A major port expansion to support mining projects in Australia's coal-rich Galilee Basin in the State of Queensland has received approval of the federal government, despite Australia's commiments made at the COP21 climate change conference last month, and fears of damage to the iconic Great Barrier Reef.
