UK AUTUMN STATEMENT

The British government will outline its 5-year spending plan later (12.30G) - as it decides how to spend around 6 trillion dollars of taxpayers money...

Government departments are being asked to find 30 billion dollars worth of cuts as the Chancellor George Osborne looks to balance the books.

It comes after Mr Osborne faced criticism for cutting so-called 'tax credits' in a move his opponents say hurt working class families.

So political reporter Theo Usherwood, at Westminster, says it's a big day for Britain's finance minister.
