CAMERON: KILLING JIHADI JOHN 'THE RIGHT THING TO DO'

Killing the British militant known as Jihadi John was the right thing to do, according to UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

Mr Cameron says it is not yet certain that Mohammed Emwazi - who became known as Jihadi John - was killed in a US air strike in Syria.

But he's thanked US forces for targeting a vehicle near Raqqa thought be carrying Emwazi.

Mohammed Emwazi was born in Kuwait before moving to the UK at the age of six - and has featured in a series of Islamic State videos involving the beheading of hostages.

David Cameron says his killing was necessary.
