US-Russia agree to share airspace over Syria

The U.S. and Russian militaries have signed a memorandum of understanding about how the two can operate safely over Syrian skies.

Russia's claims that it is targeting the Islamic State in it's own way have been countered by allies claims that Moscow's primary goal is to prop up Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
