US President Barack Obama has committed the US to 17 new targets to help eliminate poverty, hunger, disease and conflict around the world.
Speaking at the UN, about its new 'Sustainable Development Goals', he said the project is ambitious but can be achieved if governments work together.
As Lorna Shaddick reports from the UN, the speech comes ahead of the President's planned address on Monday to the UN General Assembly.
