UK LABOUR SPLITS DEEPEN AMID LEADERSHIP RACE

Britain's Labour Party is showing more signs of a major split, with it appearing on the brink of appointing a leftist candidate as leader.

Jeremy Corbyn has a huge lead among Labour voters, according to a new poll, with the leader due to be announced next month.

But centrist figures from Labour's government run by former Prime Minister Tony Blair continue to warn against choosing left-wing Mr Corbyn after May's resounding election defeat.
