LABOUR LEADERSHIP RACE IN CHAOS

There are calls for the UK Labour Party to re-rerun its leadership contest because of claims the vote is being infiltrated by saboteurs.

Several Labour MPs say opponents are signing up as party members to elect leftist candidate Jeremy Corbyn as leader.

The party says false supporters aren't only joining to back Mr Corbyn, whose detractors insist would be unelectable as Prime Minister if he did become Labour leader.

The left-winger has a significant lead in latest polling of Labour voters, with the leader due to be announced next month.

It follows a resounding defeat for Labour in May's general election.

Labour commentator Dan Hodges says the party can't abandon the leadership contest now.
