Head of UN CAR mission fired over abuse claims

The head of the United Nations mission in the Central African Republic
has been sacked following allegations of rape and murder.

Amnesty International has presented evidence that peacekeepers in the
country raped a 12-year girl and murdered a father and his son.

The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon addressed the claims at the UN
headquarters in New York.
